Papier Maché Paste

3 c. cold water
1 1/2 c. flour
Oil of peppermint

In a heavy saucepan, stir flour into cold water. Ask a grown up to cook over low heat until mixture thickens to a creamy past. Cool; then add a few drips of peppermint oil. Use this paste with strips of paper to cover a form by pouring paste into pie tin and dipping one strip at a time into paste. Run strip between thumb and forefinger to remove excess paste. Wrap two or three layers of strips over objects. Smooth out lumps and bumps and trim edges. After 24 hours drying time, add two or three additional layers. As a final layer, dip strips of paper toweling into the paste and cover all. Objects such as bowls can be used if first greased with vegetable oil. Allow papier-maché to dry completely before removing object.
